Here is a quick photo tutorial about how to make a nice border using a "reverse" single crochet stitch. I believe some people call this a "crab" stitch in crochet, but don't quote me on that...

This would have to be the final row or round of a project because after it is completed, there is no stitch left to work into on subsequent rounds. So, I use it as a pretty border for blankets, doll clothes, etc to give the project a finished look. 

The reverse stitch is worked from left to right. To begin, insert your hook in the stitch to the right of your hook (photo 1). YO and pull up a loop - this loop will be to the left of the existing loop on your hook (photo 2). Next, yo and pull through both loops (photo 3). In photo 4, you can see how the RevSc stitch looks as it is being worked across.

I have seen the reverse single crochet stitch abbreviated as Rsc or RevSc.

You can also do variations on this border stitch. For example, you can repeat *RevSc, ch 1, sk 1 st*
or you can work a RevHdc.
